Young Conker confirmed as Microsoft Hololens Title

Update: The referenced blog post from the Fortune article has been published, and with it a trailer for the Young Conker demo:

Original Story: Conker is indeed returning, albeit in a yet another different form: through augmented reality. Today in a post spotted on Fortune.com, Reddit users found details on the rumored new Conker title for the Microsoft Hololens. Below is an excerpt from the article, which has already been pulled by Fortune:

Young Conker takes the popular squirrel created by Microsoft-owned developer Rare off platform gaming and and into the real world. Developed by Asobo Studios (which also worked with Microsoft on Fragments), the game changes based on what environment the gamer is playing in.

“This means every person gets a unique gameplay experience, since each gamer’s real world environment is unique,” Tsunoda wrote. “It is amazing how different the play experience feels based on playing the game in your living room versus your kitchen or your bedroom. Even starting the game from a different position in a single room creates an entirely new gameplay dynamic.”

This hardly paints a full picture of what players can expect when this title becomes available to Hololens developers this spring. The article only states that it is a bundled demo to help developers understand the possibilities they can unlock while creating software for the $3000 device. There is no confirmation as to whether or not it will come bundled with retail devices, or if it will be a full-on game in the Windows Store at that time.

Our site staff speculated about this topic only a few weeks ago in a vL.O.G. segment:

No screenshots or additional details have been revealed at this time, but we will post updates as new information becomes available.
